Terms of hire
Draft wording, dated 9 September 2026, for Sharon Lee and Piers Bennett to approve before launch. Not yet in force.
Who you're contracting with
This booking is with Sharon Lee, trading as Woodsend Walkies, at the field on Scoggers Hill, Nr Boughton under Blean, Faversham, ME13 (the full postcode is still to be confirmed). References to "we", "us" and "the field" in these terms mean her.
What you're booking
A booking gives you exclusive use of the field for the slot you paid for — no other dogs share your session. The last few minutes of every slot are changeover, for one household to leave and the next to arrive, so please stick to your times. Each slot is for one household only.
Price and payment
Online bookings are paid in advance by card via Stripe, at the price shown at checkout. Card details are entered on Stripe's own page and are never seen by us. A booking made by arrangement rather than online may instead be paid by cash or bank transfer.
Cancellations and refunds
You can cancel or move a booking online, up to 2 hours before it starts, from the link in your confirmation email or from Your bookings. Whatever is due under the tier that applies at that moment is refunded automatically to the card you paid with, and takes 5–10 working days to appear.
- More than 24 hours before your start timeCancel or move your booking free of charge. Cancel and everything you paid is refunded. Move and what you paid goes with it.
- Between 24 and 2 hours before your start timeCancel or move your booking, with a £5 fee. Cancel and the rest is refunded, and the £5 is kept as credit off your next booking. Move and the £5 goes towards the new time, so moving costs nothing extra.
- Less than 2 hours before, or no-showNo refund, and the booking can no longer be cancelled or moved online. The full cost of the booked time is charged.
Credit
Credit is kept against the email address you booked with. It comes off your next booking automatically when you sign in with that address to book. Credit is not refundable as cash.
Exceptional circumstances
Emergencies happen. Get in touch as soon as you can and we may waive or reduce the fee, or offer a one-off credit against a future booking.
Weather and closures by us
If we have to cancel or move your booking — unsafe ground, extreme weather or maintenance — we will tell you as soon as we can, and you can choose either a full refund or priority rebooking at no extra cost. We cannot accept liability for other costs you incur as a result.
Bad weather, unsafe ground, or a closure for maintenance are at the owner's discretion. If we close or move your booking for one of these reasons, it is refunded in full or rebooked at no extra cost — whichever you would rather have.
Your right to cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, most online purchases carry a 14-day cooling-off right. That right does not apply here: it is specifically excluded for leisure services booked for a particular date (regulation 28(1)(h)). That is why the cancellation policy above — not a 14-day cooling-off period — governs cancelling your booking.
No-shows and late arrival
If you arrive late, your booking still ends at the scheduled finish time. We cannot extend your session, because it would run into the next visitor’s.
A booking that is neither cancelled nor attended is a no-show, and is treated the same as a cancellation with less than two hours' notice: no refund.
Field rules
The field rules are part of this contract. You confirmed them at checkout, and booking again confirms them again.
Liability
- Dogs remain their owner's responsibility at all times on the field.
- You must keep control of your dogs throughout your booking.
- Damage caused by your dogs is your responsibility.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
[Waiver and insurance wording to be supplied by the owner's insurer — not drafted here]
Gate codes
Your gate code is personal to your booking and must not be shared with anyone else. If your booking is cancelled or moved after a code has been issued, the old code still works for its original hour and cannot be switched off. For that reason, a slot cancelled or moved away from inside 24 hours of its start is not resold.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
